Wednesday, July 16, 2003 Weather: At peace with itself, finally Listening to:Norah Jones, "Don't Know Why" Not doing: preparations for picnicing in High Park while watching a play Random thoughts, catchup edition` -Passing a dentist's office today. In the window, a close-up of one of the Uruk-Hai from a Lord of the Rings battle scene and, penned above it in black permanent marker, the words "Cosmetic Dentistry?" Wonder if he gets much business.... -Mom, preparing daughter for day-long field trip with me: "Now, you make sure you listen to Susan and Ann, do whatever they say. Don't run around, stay with the group, make sure you eat all your sandwich and your grapes before you have your cookie. Wear your sunhat. Your sunscreen and towel are in your bag. Can you carry your bag? Good. Don't lose that. Now. Do you have any questions?" Daughter: "Yes, mommy. Why do octopusses live in the ocean?" -5-year-old explaining his drawing to me yesterday: "I drew a rhino, a bunny, and a holy mammoth." -Bellydancing = fun. Although I'm pretty sure I've been put together alllll wrong for it. The instructor says things like, "ok, now move JUST your ribcage." Ummm, I don't know about yours, but mine doesn't move independently of the rest of my body... The coin belts/skirts are cool though. -Pirates of the Carribean = funny and light. Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle = craptacular. -It's harder than it might sound to figure out when you're '45 degrees from the curb'. -Summers are long and pretty.
